Job Description:

Commercial Litigation · 3–5 Years · New York Bar Admission Required

In the New York market, it is easy for a mid-level litigator to become a single cog in a massive document-review machine. This established national firm is expanding its New York County presence, offering an alternative: a sophisticated commercial litigation platform where talented associates are expected to genuinely own files, drive case strategy, and interface directly with clients.

The Work

You will step immediately into a diverse portfolio of high-stakes commercial disputes, managing matters across New York's primary business venues:

  • Commercial Division & Federal Practice: Lead substantive litigation within the New York County Commercial Division as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
  • Case Ownership: Take a primary role in running cases independently and in collaborative teams. This is a role for an attorney who wants to actively manage discovery strategy, lead sophisticated legal research, and draft high-level pleadings and dispositive motions.
  • Substantive Advocacy: Move beyond passive support. You will be responsible for orchestrating day-to-day case management, preparing for oral arguments, and shaping the core narrative of complex corporate disputes.

Who This Is For

This role is designed for a New York-admitted attorney with three to five years of complex commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting. A prior judicial clerkship is highly valued and will be fully leveraged. The ideal candidate has already mastered the foundational mechanics of New York practice and is looking to escape a top-heavy structure in exchange for clear runway, transparent trajectory, and actual autonomy.

The Platform

The firm pairs the deep resource network and cross-border capabilities of a prominent national platform with the entrepreneurial, tight-knit dynamics of a growing Manhattan office. The culture actively rejects rigid bureaucracy in favor of real collaboration, championing diverse perspectives and investing heavily in the professional development required to take mid-level associates through to the partner track.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $205,000 to $225,000, commensurate with experience and class year.

The firm provides a comprehensive, market-leading benefits package representative of a premier national practice:

  • Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with firm profit-sharing contributions
  • Generous paid time off and parental leave policies
  • Short-term, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Dedicated budget for CLEs, professional development, and bar association involvements
